Message	It seems there's quite some difference in opinion on what's the best stuff to use. I opted for the Utra Black Permatex gasket sealer because of it's explicit high oil resistance, applicator which I'm hoping gets me a good bead -- maybe doesn't dry out as quickly as the cheaper toothpaste tubes -- and importantly quick and easy availability at Autozone. The diversity in responses indicates to me it's not worth over thinking this one. It was another 20 minutes of "stump the chump" trying to find the plastigage and assembly lube.
